Overview
Cast iron melting plugs, or cores, are large blocks of cast iron custom designed to fit into rodding room induction furnaces. This allows operations to quickly melt them to fuse anode yokes to anode blocks. This process ensures blocks stay attached to the anode stubs inside reduction cells.
